My name is Kristina and I am a 23 year old, recent college graduate.  I was attempting to get into my career field when I got into a motorcycle accident and had to have surgery on my arm.  That, in turn, set me back from continuing down my career path (since it includes a physical abilities assessment).  Then a bad break-up almost left me homeless, and luckily a friend let me stay at her apartment, since I couldn’t afford an apartment on my own.

I don’t believe in things happening for a reason, but if any of those above things hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have been so distraught with my life and made a decision that I would face all of my fears.  I needed a big change, and I decided that change would be backpacking solo in Southeast Asia.  I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Bangkok, saved up enough money to last me 6+ months (tentatively) of traveling, and starting 1 Nov, I will be off on my own until I get bored or run out of money and buy my ticket back to the US.

This blog is a way for me to keep friends and family updated that I am still alive, a place to store pictures for all of them to see, and also my own way to keep memories of my trip!
